Clean Car Programme

New Zealand's Clean Car Programme

NZ’s Government announced the Clean Car Programme on 13 June 2021. It includes measures that will help NZ become carbon neutral by 2050.

Under the expanded Clean Car Programme, vehicles registered for the first time in New Zealand may receive a rebate or a fee as long as certain criteria are met, including the amount of carbon dioxide produced, the vehicle’s safety rating, and the vehicle’s price.
